Heel toe

Yeah so I did walk all through the hospital with just a cane.

Yeah.

Apparently walking correctly, heel toe is something new and perhaps a little less of it might have been the ticket.

It went well and I am not sorry that I did it but it might have been a bit soon.

I may not be able to walk from this chair to my bed.

The jury is out.

The jury is not out about my knee. Dr. McCalden said and I quote "You are doing super awesome."

Yay!

Yesterday's post that I forgot to post

Big big day tomorrow! Six week checkup with the knee surgeon.

Only someone like me would shave their legs for the first time this spring and cut myself on my scar the night before this appointment. Do'h! Hopefully it will disappear by morning as these things sometimes do.

Two of my friends sent me this on Facebook today:

I'm seriously thinking of wearing my pirate shirt tomorrow! Cause I want to walk in with just a cane and no rolator. Not sure if the surgeon would even notice but it would be a big win for me!

There are lots of places throughout the hospital where I can sit down and rest if I need to. Stay tuned!

Today Al came over and mulched! I'll have to take some after pictures tomorrow.

Chugging life

Just for funzies Karen and I spent yesterday till 3 AM at St. Mary's hospital. My potassium levels came back very high from a routine blood check. Might explain why I have been so tired lately although I am still hoping they were just false highs.

On a positive note the hospital had free wifi.

I missed a party that I really wanted to go to. Even though I don't drink much I had bought these because I thought they were funny:

Karen and I had a medication chugging party instead.

The colour tells it all. It was pretty vile and I had to drink two. In the end the numbers came down enough that I could go home.

My doctor is determined to figure out what's going on so I'll be having lots of blood tests.

In the mean time I feel good. Tired but hoping that's just low iron since the surgery. We'll see.

On another positive note my diabetic numbers are the best they've been in years and years!

Today I had an awesome walk.

Flying squirrel?

I think Harrison loves the smell of old dog pee so much that…

he wants to marry it

Leg stretch going up again!
