My new ride

Just kidding

It's not a new ride but rather a new walk.

Meet the red rocket!

It folds like a dream.

They threw in a free cup holder too!

Stows nicely behind the door.

Might be time to put away the crutches.

And possibly the Christmas wreath.

Reflectors! There's a good chance that it's a transformer too. Stay tuned.

One of the reasons I wanted it is that I'm going to be going to Halifax in the beginning of April for 4-6 weeks for the occasion of spending lots of quality time with my sister Mary Lynn from PEI as she gets a stem cell transplant from my brother Jim. She won't be in the hospital but has to have a support person with her at all times. We'll be staying at a lodge across from the hospital playing cards, doing word puzzles, skyping everyone we know and just generally having fun.

More about that as it develops but me and my camera are excited to see some new territory. Word on the street is that Halifax is closer to spring than we are!

Also tonight Harry helped me finish his cat nip toy.

It took a while for him to smell it but then he was right there helping.

The feline frisbee? The idea is that he can carry it around like a donut if he wants to. If he ever comes down from his catnip funnel high that is.

The pelican briefly

Let's put off the pictures of snow for a few minutes and listen to a Florida story from my brother Henry:

"We were given a bucket of fish for $5 to feed these big fish."

"I was throwing my fish out further to make the big fish swim for them but the sea gulls would swoop in from behind me and catch the fish before they hit the water. My solution was to fake the throw and watch the sea gulls dive at thin air. That's when buddy pelican came from behind me and snapped at my hand which was still holding the fish."

Look at this sweet face again. Almost sure it was an accident. Almost.

Ok snow. Because honestly there's really not much else out there to take pictures of.

Still you can't beat full sun so late in the afternoon and with the time change it's just going to get better!

You know it's a long winter when you start seeing happy faces in the slush.

The three sisters officially made it to March!

Finally some jet trail for the Elf ride.

Mom holding Cooper

Today I did my laundry and worked on cleaning up my iPod. That meant finally looking at all the videos I took when Mom got to hold Cooper. You can see them when you click here.

It's not good quality video but it's precious.

I've shown the bit near the beginning before where I ask if her arm is getting tired but had never looked through the rest.

By this point in mom's life, just before her last Christmas she was totally confused and often very unresponsive.

Holding Cooper brought out the light in her eyes for a really long time.

She was perpetually surprised by the little bear on his sleeper but there was never a moment where we feared that she would drop or harm him.

I also found these pictures of my friends Grace and Sandra the year we all turned 50.

Grace is my high school friend that passed away this year. Wow kind of a sad blog tonight isn't it.

But it would be sadder not to stop and remember sometimes I think.

These high school friends are still very much up and running though one of them (name rhymes with Schmoody) will deny ever even having heard the word fifty much less turning it.

Ahem
