Cool as a cucumber

Quite a day! Day one of operation celebrate Emily turning 10 is almost complete. The celebrants are currently tucked into warm sleeping bags watching movies. Only the occasional shriek to be heard.

I've spent most of the day happily juggling 3 cameras.

Sadly you can only see two of them cause I had to you know take that picture with one of them.

I climbed up quite a snow bank to take pictures. Can't imagine why it wasn't more accessible ;)

Earlier Henry and I went to visit Mom. We brought her Emily's book. Mom wasn't able to read anything so I read it for her while Emily watched via the iPod.

Finished up some sewing today. As you can see I had help.

Actually he was very good and had to be goaded into playing with the thread. I've never had a cat that allows me to sew while they are on my lap before.

Just in case though I never ever leave a threaded needle within his reach. My niece Dana (Cooper's mom) who is a vet tech says that is very dangerous and they see a lot of surgeries because of ingested needles and thread.

Btw tonight Cooper's grandpa Henry made him laugh so hard that he could be heard on the next floor!

Tomorrow is Emily's big birthday party. As you can see from this picture she sent me the celebration has already begun! Whoot!

Hard at work editing the hundreds of pictures I took of Auggie last Saturday. Still not exactly sure what I'm going to do with them. But we've agreed that this is probably the cutest picture of all.

Anyway I'm not going to rush into anything, I'm going to take my time with this. Such pleasure!

I want to investigate GarageBand. If I could make my own music that would be pretty cool.

The fact that I think it is not noteworthy that I can walk well enough to do my own laundry today without it being a big deal is a big deal. And the fact that I am planning on Saturday to somehow get out on the tobogganing hills to take pictures of Emily's 10th birthday is also a big deal! I'm not going to sled down any hills and I'm sure the zoom lens will be my best friend but I'm going to be out there trying. Can't wait!

This temporary knee is not without pain but my how I look forward to the new one that should be even better!

If I can remember that I can look forward to doing even more things after about the next six months of surgery and physio it should help.
